Allison Cara Tolman was born in America. The actress is most famous for her role as Molly Solverson in the first season of the FX TV show Fargo. She has earned Emmy as well as Golden Globe nominations. Tolman was born in New York City and is the mother of two older and one younger brothers. The family moved out of England in the United Kingdom to Sugar Land, Texas at the age of the age of a newborn. Prior to moving to Sugar Land in Texas, she lived for five years in Oklahoma and West Texas. Her first acting lessons began at the age of 10 old at Fort Bend Community Theatre. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently stole the whole performance". She won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for a movie/ministry, she was nominated as Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. Tolman has also appeared in an appearance on the Mindy Show as Abby Berman a romance writer. Tolman was the support character in Michael Douglas' movie about horror Krampus. Tolman turned down several roles in supporting characters including best friends spouses, and mothers after her breakthrough role on Fargo. The actress was searching for an unusual role. Tolman's 2017 role in ABC Downward Dog was based upon her role in the Animal Media Group Web Series. After one season, it was canceled. Tolman appeared in ABC's Emergence drama that debuted on the 24th of September, 2019, however it was cancelled by ABC after one year in May of 2020. despite Tolman posting on Twitter that the show's ratings were "pretty decent". The actress was a guest on NBC's Good Girls. She appeared as Alma Filcott during the second season of Why Women Kill.
